Snickerdoodles

On the seventh day of cookies I slaved and baked for thee, Snickerdoodles oh so sweet and cinnamony.


The seventh cookie on our list is one of my husband’s favorite cookies. He loves the chewy sweetness of the cookie combined with the slight spiciness from the ground cinnamon. For him, it’s a simple cookie with no frills, just a perfect cookie in every way shape and form.


Snickerdoodles

1 cup butter, room temp.

1 ½  cups sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 ¾  cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp baking soda

½  tsp kosher salt

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

3 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon


Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together. Set aside.

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla until fully incorporated.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until fluffy .

Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Place 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, will be a very light golden brown with a wrinkly top.

Cool completely on a wire rack and then store in an airtight container.
